Noumea

The downtown of Noumea is a great area for a walking tour where you can see the whole city in half a day. The Saint Joseph's Cathedral is the most famous tourist attraction and you will get pass the pastel-tone hoses on the way while overlooking at the beautiful scenery of the ocean when you go over the hill. You will have to dilligently become a morning person in New Caledonia where everything starts early and closes early as well.
